Some Designs Call for Something Different
The Comfort Colors brand has been a cult favourite in apparel for good reason - heavier, garment-dyed, with a vintage softness that only gets better over time. We've been wanting to bring it to Kozakura for a while. Some designs just feel at home on a different kind of canvas.
Substantial, Not Stiff
Heavier doesn't have to mean boardy. The Comfort Color tees 6.1oz/y (206 gsm) weight comes from ring-spun cotton combined with garment dyeing - a process that washes and treats each shirt after construction. The result is a shirt that feels grounded and soft, not thick or restrictive. It has presence without the cardboard.
Garment-Dyed Character
Unlike standard tees where fabric is dyed before construction, the Comfort Color tee is dyed after the shirt is made. The result: rich, lived-in colour with a vintage quality that can't be faked - and no two shirts are exactly alike.
Ring-Spun Softness
Tightly twisted ring-spun cotton produces a noticeably softer, stronger yarn. The hand-feel on a Comfort Color tee is different from the moment you put it on - the kind of soft you find in a shirt you've worn 200 times.
Relaxed, Modern Fit

Comfort Colors cotton is sourced under the US Cotton Trust Protocol - verified standards for water use, soil health, and responsible production. Something made with a little more consideration.

Our co-founder grew up in Japan, still has family there, and travels back regularly. Her perspective isn't a checkbox — it's the foundation every design is built on.
We don't do generic cherry blossoms. We don't recycle the same Mount Fuji imagery on every design.
Except for the intentional tongue-in-cheek and meme designs you might see from us from time to time - we make designs that people who know Japan instantly recognize — and love.

We print your shirt after you order it — no warehouse, no waste. This takes about 7 days to ship, but it means every piece is freshly made for you, and we don't overproduce.
We know sizing can be tricky, that's why we have a handy size chart on every product page. If you're still unsure, don't hesitate to reach out to our friendly customer service team at our email: support@kozakuradesigns.com.
Unfortunately as each item is made-to-order we can't accept returns or exchanges if the size is wrong.
We're a small, made-to-order shop and we haven't opened up international checkout just yet — mostly because we refuse to charge you $30+ in shipping when there's a better way. If you're outside the US, reach out to us at support@kozakuradesigns.com and we'll connect you with a supplier closer to you for a much more reasonable rate.
