Some Designs Call for Something Different
The Comfort Colors brand has been a cult favourite in apparel for good reason - heavier, garment-dyed, with a vintage softness that only gets better over time. We've been wanting to bring it to Kozakura for a while. Some designs just feel at home on a different kind of canvas.
Substantial, Not Stiff
Heavier doesn't have to mean boardy. The Comfort Color tees 6.1oz/y (206 gsm) weight comes from ring-spun cotton combined with garment dyeing - a process that washes and treats each shirt after construction. The result is a shirt that feels grounded and soft, not thick or restrictive. It has presence without the cardboard.
Garment-Dyed Character
Unlike standard tees where fabric is dyed before construction, the Comfort Color tee is dyed after the shirt is made. The result: rich, lived-in colour with a vintage quality that can't be faked - and no two shirts are exactly alike.
Ring-Spun Softness
Tightly twisted ring-spun cotton produces a noticeably softer, stronger yarn. The hand-feel on a Comfort Color tee is different from the moment you put it on - the kind of soft you find in a shirt you've worn 200 times.
Relaxed, Modern Fit
A slightly boxy, relaxed silhouette - the fit that looks intentional rather than accidental. It's how people actually want to wear a graphic tee. Runs true to size; size down for a slimmer look, or up of you want to drown in the softness.
Built to Last
Double-needle stitching on the neck, sleeves, and hem. Pre-shrunk so what you order is what stays. The heavier fabric holds its shape and colour through washing - a shirt you'll still be reaching for in five years.
Responsibly Sourced
Comfort Colors cotton is sourced under the US Cotton Trust Protocol - verified standards for water use, soil health, and responsible production. Something made with a little more consideration.
BEFORE YOU ORDER
We print your shirt after you order it — no warehouse, no waste. This takes about 7 days to ship, but it means every piece is freshly made for you, and we don't overproduce.
Kozakura Designs is a small, made-to-order shop. These are printed on the Comfort Colors 1717 blank - a 6.1 oz (approximately 207 gsm) 100% ring-spun cotton garment-dyed shirt.
These are noticeably heavier, softer, and more structured than standard lightweight tees. They have a relaxed, lived-in feel with minimal shrinkage and a slightly oversized, boxy cut that’s popular for streetwear and vintage-style looks. They are not thin, lightweight, or modern-fitted shirts. The relaxed cut is intentionally casual and roomier.
They are not body-contouring fashion tees. If you're looking for something that highlights abs, emphasizes curves, creates a strong slimming effect, or gives a tight, sculpted silhouette - these are not that - that's not the vibe we made these for.
For the best results, measure a T-shirt you already own and like, then compare it to our size guide. If in doubt, size up. Our sizes are not aspirational.
Because every item is made to order, we do not accept returns or exchanges for fit, fabric weight, feel, or personal expectations (only defective or damaged items).
